Lower Gwynedd, was settled by the Quakers in the late 1600’s and is a township in Montgomery with a population of approximately 11,400.  The Parks & Recreation department of Lower Gwynedd is currently in charge of four parks and over eight trails, including the 77-acre Penllyn Woods which has community-building, public areas for various types of sporting events, and walking trails, a boardwalk and pond, and two picnic pavilions.  Lower Gwynedd also hosts a variety of community events including the highly anticipated Countrie Picnic that is held once a year.

The US Sports Institute provides year-round camping and recreation for youth.  With the 2012 Junior Tournament Team District 22 Championship in little league, 14 soccer camps for children of various ages, and year-round camping and recreational opportunities for the youth that are hosted by USA Sport Group, Lower Gwynedd is a great family-oriented township to call home.  The weather in Lower Gwynedd is seasonal with hot summers, cold winters, and an average annual temperature in the low-50s
